How To Screen Print Cheap
Over the years I have do very well at learning how to screen print cheap. The key to my success is that from the very beginning of me learning to do this I did not think that a hobby should have to be expensive in order to enjoy it or profit from it. So with every aspect that I learned about screen printing I brainstormed ideas of how to do it for as cheap as possible.
I learned how to make my own silk screen printing frames using silk screen mesh. I also learned how to make a silk screen printing press. While it was not completely as easy as buying one new it was rewarding to know that I made it myself. It also cost me a fraction of what a professional machine would have although it is not as efficient in many aspect as a profession silk screen machine would be.
I also learned where to source materials needed to print on such as t-shirts and other apparel. During this process I learned that you can print on virtually any medium you can think of. Think about those cheesy gifts that your office gives away as on an appreciation day with the company logo on them such as coffee mugs, tote bags, and ink pens. Those were screen printed items.
I have also learned to save money by using empty food jars to mix small amounts of my own custom in colors in. By doing this it allows me to not have to buy extra inks that I probably would not have often had a use for. I frequently come up with ways to cut corners. These methods may not always be the best but they have enabled me to learn how to screen print cheap.
